BEAUTY IN RETROSPECT: One of the highlights of last September/October’s Spring/Summer shows was undoubtedly Louis Vuitton. The show was sweet but not overly so, there was just enough restraint and hint of sexuality beneath the elegant collars and well-proportioned jackets of the collection. I don’t think that any editorial has quite conveyed the innocence yet quiet beauty of the collection, although there have been a few good efforts (including the brand’s pretty but saccharine ad campaign). So I find myself going back to close-ups of the models from that show. A girl whose career has had me intrigued for the last year is Roberta Narciso. She debuted this time last year in the Fall/Winter 2011 shows but is only slowly coming to true recognition now. These last two seasons she has appeared in a selection of top-tier shows that will hopefully get her noticed and lead to big print work. Her face is a perfect canvas for the large eyelashes and pulled back hair from the show, which give her a youthful yet confident look. I really hope that Roberta will achieve something great in the coming season. For now I will enjoy this beautiful close-up from LV’s S/S 2012 show. Perfect timing, given that spring is nearly upon us, so why not compliment it with some fresh model beauty.
