ASTRO POWERED: It’s rare that I hit up Jedroot in order to do anything other than ogle at Michael Thompson’s works (sad but true), but sometimes I do wander onto other photographer’s profile. It was during such an online dawdle, that I came across the work of Dan Forbes.
A photographer who produces a lot of still lifes and images of luxury products for the likes of The New York Magazine and GQ, his work has a slick precision that is definitely eye-catching to say the least.
This particular image, from a set entitled ‘Astro’ features a robotic visage, not unlike that of R2-D2. A gold metallic head is placed atop what looks like a regular man’s body, albeit a man in a space suit. Yet the lens’ eyes that stare right out at you suggest that this being is all machinery at heart.
This image was (obviously) sourced from Dan Forbes’ portfolio on Jedroot.com.
