A collection of inspirations called to mind

WILD WAVES: Ever since watching (a quite bad) film with Dennis Quaid called ‘The Flight of The Phoenix’, I have been thinking about the images of 1940s fighter planes fondly. I think that there was something elegant and appealing to the eye about them. Even though I am no historian or aviation expert/enthusiast in the slightest. This dramatic painting is a work by C McHugh called ‘Swordfish, Augusta Raid’, documenting a plane’s flight from Malta to bomb Augusta Harbour. Nice stuff…I know. I love the blue tones in the painting and seeing the contrast of the roaring waves set off by the calm flight of the plane.
